i live this love in stolen moments
as if knowing your arms will leave me --
and so I lay and marinate
in sheets
salted in sweat, that sets and
evaporates.
a faint scent, the remainder.
the reminder of fleeting experience.
living like I'll always lose you. loving
like you'll never stay -- I'd risk it all
for the memory, or so it seems.
but as always, before you go
this penciled, twitterpated constitution sets
my heart to
tap,
tap,
tap -
dancing
in excitement it hardly allowed itself before.
unfettered with reasons
well
consumed with lightness, eyes steal
a glance and, behind shuttered windows,
shielded by eyelashes from the soul,
the body promised,
the heart taut.
she turned the record over
and the vinyl scratched again.
and the vinyl scratched again.
and the vinyl scratched again.
